A Virtual Revolution in Web Marketing

Long gone are the days of 'text-only' information on Web pages with drab grey backgrounds. Today, with graphics, sound, and animation readily available and highly used on the World Wide Web, companies are not only using it as an enhancement of their printed, traditional marketing materials.

More and more, companies are opting to invest in the web as their primary means of communicating with and attracting new clients. The reasons for this are multiple. The number of new sites entering the Web each day is breathtaking. To give you an idea of how quickly the Web is expanding, in April 1996 there were 34 million separate Web pages registered with Lycos (a major search engine site) but by December 1996 that number had almost doubled to 60 million. Today, it exceeds 200 million. And the number of new Web users is growing just as rapidly.
